A trip in the natural surroundings

In Kalundborg, there are many opportunities to go for a trip in the outdoors. During the summer months you can go on a horse carriage around the town area of Kalundborg, try the vintage steam train or visit the nature school.

 With the vintage steam train you can go on a nostalgic train journey from Kalundborg to Jyderup. The steam locomotive is from 1899, and in 2006 again put into operation following 15 years of renovation undertaken by volunteers. The carriages of the vintage train are from the 1920s. A car is designed as a café carriage, another as a freight carriage with room for bicycles and prams.  Or take a trip to Røsnæs’ nature school. Here you can pat goats, rabbits, sheep and horses, go for a walk in the beautiful scenery or take a dip at the beach and enjoy a lunch at café Edderfuglen. |

See eagles by Tissø  In Kalundborg, Denmark's fourth largest lake Tissø. By Tissø you can see many different aquatic birds and the big white-tailed eagles, which nest at the adjacent Lake Skarresø. Fugledegård Formidlingscenter (Information centre) is situated by Tissø, where there is overnight accommodation, toilet and the opportunity to enjoy a picnic.
